IPRS USER BULLETIN:
 ZIPPED FILES

Subject: FYI - IPRS USER BULLETIN

FYI: Due to heightened security restrictions on our local email servers e-mails sent to EDS with zip files attached are now being removed. Therefore, in order to get your .zip file through our network, you must name it with the extension '.eds.zip'.

EDS is taking this action as an additional safeguard. The exploitation of infected ZIP attachments in e-mails has escalated, as demonstrated by the surge of new variants of the Mydoom, Bagle and Netsky family of worms.

Impact to User: Senders must rename zip files with the extension '.eds.zip'. ZIP file attachments without the new naming convention will be considered high-risk and will be removed.
